MCM DAV College is the First Educational Institution in India to Install Real Time Air Quality Monitoring System.


MCM DAV College is ready to implement waste segregation under Swachh Bharat in the College campus, hostels, cafeteria and other areas.



The College has functional Vermi composting for organic manure production and its application in campus flora from mess fruit and vegetable waste.


The NSS Volunteers of the College displayed their love and care for environment through posters and slogans.

The Environment Committee of MCM DAV College organized an awareness drive to sensitizing masses for Environment protection.


A tree plantation drive was organized in college campus by NSS units of MCM DAV college for women, Sector 36, Chandigarh. Dr. Nisha Bhargava, principal, initiated the drive by planting a medicinal plant with students. Dr. Bhargava emphasized on sensitizing society about saving environment and plantation of medicinal plants that are useful in treating common ailments.


Students of MCM DAV College organized an awareness drive to develop a sensitive approach towards harvesting the precious natural resources and concern about water conservation.


NSS volunteers of MCM DAV college made posters for generating awareness about the hygiene and the cleanliness of our environment and the importance of trees in safeguarding our planet by writing slogans like "Save environment heal the Earth" and "Our earth is at stake what action will you take ?".


NSS volunteers of the college held an exhibition on Best out of waste within the college campus to showcase how we can make the most interesting things out of the waste material by recycling and reusing things like bottle ,bottle caps ,paper etc .


Cleanliness drive in the college by the students to create awareness about the proper disposal of waste and hygiene.


Cleanest Food Kiosk Contest was organized within the college campus to check out the cleanliness and the hygiene level maintained by different eating joints.


Sarvatra  swachhata : An initiative taken by the MCM DAV college  to clean the garden  and the market area of Sector 36 with the involvement of sweepers and mallis of the college.



Clean Mess Day was organized by the MCM DAV College by conducting a Slogan Writing Competition within the College hostel to sensitize the students and especially cooks toward the importance of health, hygiene, nutrition and minimum food wastage.


." I am the change"-Personal initiative for cleanliness taken by Department of Fine Arts of the college by organizing a workshop cum competition to create and showcase sculptures and paintings made from waste bottles, bottle caps, paper , e-waste like CDs , charger, wires etc.


Department of Mass Communication put up a unique photo booth that aimed to educate and sensitize students about cleanliness in a novel manner by displaying Gandhiji's spectacles and a television cutout as props.


Mr. B. Purushartha, IAS,  Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh graced the occasion with his presnces at the Prize Distribution function of 'Swachh Pakhwada 2017'.


Brand ambassador for Swachhta Abhiyan (Chandigarh) Mrs.Savita Bhatti, honoring the winners of various activities conducted during 'Swachh Pakhwada 2017'.
